Social District

In July of 2025 the Village of Maple Rapids was approved for a Social District in part of our downtown area. We have 2 businesses who qualify to apply for their licenses. They have been approved and the Social District is now open. Here is some information on our social district:

CURRENT APPROVED BUSINESSES:

  • Phillips Cider Bar & Pizzeria - 112 W Main St, Maple Rapids, MI 48853

  • Leo’s Boat Shed, LLC - 117 E Main St, Maple Rapids, MI 48853

RULES FOR THE SOCIAL DISTRICT AREA:

  • Alcoholic beverages may be purchased from participating restaurants and bars only. Look for SOCIAL DISTRICT APPROVED BUSINESS signage in the participating business.

  • Alcohol consumed in the common areas of the Social District must be in the designated SOCIAL DISTRICT CONTAINER with the Village logo and the logo of the participating business.

  • The public may NOT "bring your own" into the Social District. No coolers are allowed.

  • Alcohol purchased from non-participating businesses is NOT allowed in the common area.

  • Alcohol purchased from one participating business may not be brought into another participating business.

  • Social District beverages must be disposed of when leaving the boundaries.

  • Please drink responsibly.

  • The Social District area & time may be adjusted for Special Events. Information will be posted on this page about any SPECIAL EVENTS and temporary changes.

MAPLE RAPIDS SOCIAL DISTRICT HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY ADJUSTED FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 — THE SOCIAL DISTRICT WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE CLOSED DOWNTOWN STREETS OF MAIN (FROM OAK TO FRANKLIN) AND MAPLE (FROM WATER TO ADELAIDE). THE TIME HAS ALSO BEEN ADJUSTED TO NOON - MIDNIGHT ON THIS DAY ONLY.
